New release of Brahms Cello Sonatas with John York, celebrating a 37-year musical partnership

Raphael Wallfisch and John York share a 37 year musical collaboration as a duo and these extraordinary musicians continue to expand their repertoire in the Nimbus catalogue with their new release of Brahms Cello Sonatas NI5972. Part of a two CD project presenting Brahms Sonatas, this disc features Sonatensatz and Five Sonatas for Cello and Piano, whilst the second CD to be released in July 2019 will include the Clarinet sonatas and the first violin sonatas.

We are not attempting to reproduce the original work with the necessary pitch changes because such treatment would simply be arrogant and pointless.
