“Hagai Shaham, Arnon Erez and Raphael Wallfisch have music running through their veins. They are one with the music and with each other…” Luister Magazine, April 2015

Trio Shaham Erez Wallfisch was founded in 2009 and comprises three of the finest international instrumentalists performing today. As a soloist Hagai Shaham has performed with the world’s leading orchestras, including the English Chamber Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, BBC Philharmonic, Belgian National Orchestra, Israel Philharmonic, RTE Symphony Orchestra and the Taipei, Singapore and Shanghai orchestras. In September 1990, Hagai Shaham and his duo partner, Arnon Erez, won the first prize at the ARD International Music competition in Munich in the Violin-Piano duo category leading to highly acclaimed recitals throughout the world and a duo partnership which continues to this day.

Playing chamber music together at the Pablo Casals Prades Festival, Hagai Shaham and Raphael Wallfisch recognised an immediate musical synergy. Arnon Erez joined them for trio concerts in Lucerne and the Netherlands later that year and the Trio Shaham Erez Wallfisch was established. Since 2009 the Trio have performed, broadcasted and recorded widely throughout Europe and Israel.  They perform regularly at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam and will return there for performances in 2017/18 season.  Similarly, they have been chosen by the Wigmore Hall to present the complete Beethoven Piano Trios in 2020, Beethoven’s 250th anniversary year.

Trio Shaham Erez Wallfisch enjoys a longstanding relationship with Nimbus Records with whom to date they have recorded the Mendelssohn piano trios, a disc of French repertoire and a disc of Russian repertoire. Their fourth disc on Nimbus, which will include the Brahms piano trios as well as the Brahms Double Concerto with the Staatsorchester Rheinische Philharmonie, was released in 2016. The next recording is due out in January 2018.
